Eight Schillings Brings Up Seasonal Stakes Winner # 7 for O’Reilly
18 March 2012
Champion sire O’Reilly registered his 7th stakes winner for the season on Saturday when his very much in-form son Eight Schillings landed Trentham Garden’s Listed Lightning Handicap (1200m).
The four-year-old completed a hat-trick of wins, following his fourth placing in the Gr 1 Telegraph Handicap in January when he sped over the 1200 metres in 1.07.61.
“He’s had three starts for three wins with the blinkers on and is finishing his races off a lot straighter and stronger,” McKee said.
All up Eight Schillings has achieved 7 wins from 18 starts and counted his latest win under regular pilot Sam Sprat by a ½ length margin.
Eight Schillings is raced by the Archer family and Diane Wright, who have already enjoyed much stakes success this season through the deeds of their grand Gr.1 galloper, Mufhasa.
