Family tradition continues
5 February 2015
Danny O’Brien’s success with a prominent WS family continued yesterday on the Lakeside track at Sandown. The Flemington trainer produced Indulge there to win her second consecutive race following success at Geelong last month.
O’Brien prepared the Pins filly’s mother Splashing Out to claim the Gr 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes and she ran second in the Gr 1 Ascot Vale Stakes. He also trained Indulge’s sister Shopaholic, winner of the Gr 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes and the Gr 3 Vanity. They are from the family of the multiple Group One hero Sacred Falls.
Indulge posted her first metropolitan victory over 1200 metres and she is considered a stakes performer of the future. “She’s now put two together now so hopefully she’s getting the hang of it,” O’Brien said.
“Now that we’re heading into the autumn we’ll give her a chance to gain some black-type.”
