Feelin The Love maintains unbeaten record

Savabeel’s winning roll made itself felt in the opening event at Hastings on Saturday with Feelin The Love maintaining her unbeaten record.

Successful on debut at Avondale, the Savabeel mare struck first blood at the Hawke’s Bay carnival with a decisive victory in the special conditions event.

“They were racing on new ground and in the first few races it’s an advantage to be on the speed,” trainer Tony Pike said. “We told Rory (Hutchings) to go forward and be aggressive.”

Feelin The Love was outside the leader to the turn and was too good in the straight for O’Reilly’s son Taken The Liberty.

“She’s obviously got a future and she could win a nice race in time,” Pike said.
