Ocean Park
As the breeder of the 5-time Group 1 winning Cox Plate champion Ocean Park, it was fitting that the exciting young sire’s first foal should be born at Trelawney Stud yesterday morning.
Arriving at 5 am, the imposing youngster is out of Ruud Van Slaats (Van Nistelrooy) – a dual G2 winner who just like our ‘NZ Horse of the Year’ Ocean Park, was bred at the famous Cambridge-based stud farm.
Importantly, the much-awaited foal could scarcely have made a better impression.
“My first impression of him was that he reminded me of Ocean Park,” said Trelawney Stud’s Brent Taylor.
“He’s a lovely big, strong bay colt, who has a real stamp of class about him.”
Ocean Park stands at Waikato Stud this season for NZ$30,000 +GST, LFG.
