Floria’s 1/2 O’Reilly half makes record breaking debut
7 November 2014
Multiple black-type winner Floria’s O’Reilly half-brother Caped Crusader registered an impressive debut win at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day.
Trained by Gai Waterhouse, the 3YO gelding broke the class record, crossing the line in the 1400m contest in a time of 1:23.17.
Raced by Bruce Slade’s Round Table Racing, Caped Crusader will now go for a break before returning to the racing fold with the Group 1 ATC Derby firmly in mind for him.
Caped Crusader was purchased for $340,000 by Round Table Racing and James Harron Bloodstock at last year’s NZB Ready to Run Sale.
