Waikato Stud’s pedigree consultant Gareth Downey is putting his money where his mouth is and will be supporting the stud’s Guineas winning sire Rios this season with his very own Gr.1 Thorndon Mile winning racemare, Macavelli Miss.

“My wife Mel and I are massive fans of Rios,” said Downey.

“Waikato Stud’s label for Rios is that he is our secret ‘smokey’

“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and we want to be part of the fireworks.”
