Group One Pedigree To The Fore

Blueblood Vogue will head toward a black-type assignment after further success at Ellerslie this afternoon. WS’s daughter of O’Reilly and two-time Group One winner Glamour Puss followed up her maiden Pukekohe win with a strong Rating 65 victory to remain unbeaten.

The Gr 3 Windsor Park Stud Breeders’ Stakes at Te Rapa in late April is the obvious target for the filly.

“I was quite keen to run her in the Mr Tiz today but Opie (Bosson) said she’s probably not ready yet, not that she isn’t up to it, but she’s still green,” co-trainer Peter Williams said. “I do think she’ll mould into a really nice miler as a four-year-old and I’m lucky to get a filly with this breeding to train.”

Vogue settled comfortably behind the pace at Ellerslie and rounded off strongly in the closing 300 metres for Bosson, who was also aboard in her debut win.

“She’s a classy filly and doesn’t know 100 per cent what she’s doing yet,” he said. “She gets a bit lost but when you ask her to go she responds.”
