Handsome Savabeel Colt Sells for A$235K

Waikato Stud’s handsome Savabeel colt ex Haberdashery has just sold to George Moore Bloodstock at the Sydney Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for A$235,000.

It is the second year that George Moore Bloodstock has secured Waikato Stud’s leading lot, with the honours last year going to the Pins ex Heavenly colt, which was procured for A$370,000.

Moore’s 2012 colt of choice attracted plenty of attention at the sales ground.

Beyond outstanding physique, he boasted a strong black-type pedigree of being by vogue Gr.1 sire Savabeel and out of an unraced half-sister to the Gr.1 Queensland Derby winner, Lachlan River

Ocean Park Trans-Tasman Double

With Andrew Forsman’s 3yo Ocean Park filly Pine Leaf breaking her maiden by a widening four and a quarter-lengths in the last at Cambridge on Wednesday, celebrations continued as just ten minutes later it was the Chirs Waller trained Velaris who saluted at Canterbury with fellow Ocean Park runner I Park finishing a gallant third.
