Hollywood Shows Her Style

Outstanding racemare Glamour Puss is now making her mark as a broodmare for WS.

The dual Gr 1 Salinger Stakes and Goodwood Handicap winner’s first foal Heritage has been a winner from limited starts and her second Hollywood has made a flying satrt to her career.

The Pins mare added another winning strike to her record on Friday night when she was successful over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley for trainer Danny O’Brien. The four-year-old now has three wins and three placings from her six starts for owner Garry Chittick.

The winner of nine races, Glamour Puss is a half-sister to Vision And Power (Gr 1 Doncaster Handicap, Gr 1 George Ryder Stakes) and Rare Insight (Gr 2 Stan Fox Stakes).

It would appear I now have to continue my weekly Corner with the amount of rumblings at the start of our new racing season. I have been around long enough to know we can never please all; my tenure as Chairman of the Racing Board was subjected to as much vitriol as subsequent Boards have had to bear, so what’s different this time, or is it different.

First foal for Waikato’s Group 1 winner Skew Wiff

Group 1-winning Savabeel mare Skew Wiff (ex Starvoia), known affectionately as ‘Wiffy’, foaled a filly by Super Seth in the early hours of Wednesday, 5 August.
