I Do A Mare To Follow
2 December 2012
Black-type looks well within the future reach of the progressive mare I Do who continued her impressive strike rate at Otaki last week. The No Excuse Needed mare downed a competitive line-up of Rating 85 metric milers for breeder-owners WS and Allan Sharrock.
The five-year-old has now won five of her 16 starts and is now poised to make her name at stakes level. Ridden by Opie Bosson, I Do sat on speed and was too good, despite giving two kilos to the runner-up and last-start winner Delecta Dreims.
I Do is a grand-daughter of the Gr.3 New Zealand St Leger winner Frequent and the family of the Gr.1 Queensland Derby winner Court Ruler. More current form has been added by the Australian stakes winner Hi Belle.
