I Do Strikes Again
17 November 2013
Dylan Turner kept his unbeaten record intact aboard the grand mare I Do this afternoon when they knocked off a competitive line-up in the open sprint at Tauranga. The apprentice has now donned the WS stud silks four times for as many wins on the daughter of No Excuse Needed.
Fresh from a last-start success at Awapuni, they settled back in the filed before drawing widest of all on the turn and a sustanined burst got the duo home in style. For I Do it represented a perfect dress rehearsal ahead of her main target – the Gr 1 Captain Cook Stakes at Trentham on December 8.
The ultra-consistent six-year-old is co-trained at New Plymouth by Allan Sharrock, who co-bred I Do with racing partner WS. She is now the stakes winner of nine races with a further 15 placings from her 25 starts.
