Trained by Lisa Latta, the son of Pins has now won seven races with victories on top of the ground and on rain-affected tracks. Nominated for the Gr 1 Thorndon Mile, he is raced by Lincoln Farms and was a $140,000 purchase from WS’s 2008 Premier Sale line-up. Out of the Group performed Kinjite mare Activate who is a three-quarter sister to the Gr 2 Sha Tin Vase winner Astimonti.
Meanwhile at Ellerslie there was Boxing Day success for O’Reilly’s progressive son Brave Centaur with the grandson of Centaine collecting the fourth win of his 14-start career. Associate WS sire Savabeel was also to the fore with his daughter Soriano following up her Gr 3 Eulogy Stakes success with a runner-up finish in the Gr 2 Eight Carat Classic.
