Moment To Savour For Son Of Savabeel

Savour The Moment drew attention to his Matamata prospects with an impressive trial win and he didn’t disappoint connections today in his return to racing. The highly-regarded son of Savabeel defeated a competitive line-up of Rating 70 sprinters in fine style.

“He did trial up well and he’s come up really good this time,” trainer Stephen Marsh said. “He’s strengthened up a lot and his work has been fantastic so we were pretty confident. When he gets up over ground we’ll see the best of him and he might be a cups’ horse next year.” Savour The Moment has now won two of his seven starts for the Albert Bosma-managed Go Racing With The Mistress Syndicate.

Out of the unraced Masterclass mare Dancing Mistress, he was purchased by them out of WS’s 2009 Premier Sale draft for $37,500. The dam’s two previous foals to race have been the Danasinga brothers Striptease and Big Winner Again who have both been winners.

Dancing Mistress is a sister to the Listed Flying Handicap winner Danasar and to the dam of the Gr 2 Auckland Breeders’ Stakes winner Vienetta and Gr 3 Lion Red Plate winner Butterscotch. It is also the family of the Australian Gr 1 winners Anacheeva (Caulfield Guineas) and Headturner (Australian Derby) as well as Golden Archer (Gr 3 McNeil Stakes).
