My Sabeel grabs Group Glory

Genuine mare My Sabeel became Savabeel’s latest black type winner when she completed a Sydney double for the WS stallion in late August. Her victory in the Gr.3 Toy Show Quality was preceded by the success of Surpass in the Randwick City Lord Mayor’s Cup.

The seven-year-old My Sabeel boosted her future broodmare value with the sixth win of her career that also features 15 placings. “She’s worth so much more money now,” trainer Kevin Moses said. She was given a good run near the pace by Glyn Schofield and they sprinted clear to win easing down.

Surpass continued his handy strike rate when he won for the sixth time in his 30-start career. The six-year-old had weighed in at his previous three starts this campaign in Melbourne and trainer Michael Moroney pulled the right rein when sending him to Sydney and a rain-affected Randwick track.
