Nandowra Back in Style at Kranji

Trainer Michael Freedman believes there is still plenty of scope left in the WS-bred and sold Savabeel 4YO Nandowra after he resumed from a spell with a gutsy win at Kranji last night.

Nandowra – who had not raced since finishing out of the money in last November’s Singapore Gold Cup (2200m), unleashed a gritty 1400m comeback, dueling with rival Davide in a homestraight tussle to score by a neck for Danny Beasley.

“I think we knew we could forget his run in the Gold Cup as he didn’t handle the bog track at all that day. His form has always been consistent every time we step him up, but he’s still a big kid,” said Freedman.

A $25,000 purchase from WS’s 2009 Premier Sale draft, Nandowra is out of the winning O’Reilly mare Fabaz, who is a half-sister to the Gr 3 Summer Cup winner Zanetta (Centaine).
