Oaks hope opens account

Lightly-raced Savabeel filly Lincoln Melody has made an immediate impression over ground to boost her classic prospects.

The daughter of Savabeel stepped up beyond a mile for the first time in the Hits Maiden 2050m at Tauherenikau on Tuesday to open her account under rider Masa Tanaka.

“She’s nominated for the New Zealand Oaks so we’ll see how she does after this and we might look at the Lowland Stakes,” trainer Lisa Latta said.
