Ocean rounds off memorable family double
Red Ocean completed a notable international family double for breeder Waikato Stud when he was successful at Kranji this evening.
The 3-year-old son of Ocean Park is a half-brother to the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-prepared Shadow Hawk, who earlier in the day at Warracknabeal had posted his first career victory at the second time of asking.
Red Ocean is trained at Kranji by Shane Baertschiger and was a $190,000 purchase at the 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale. He subsequently finished fourth in a trial at Rotorua for David and Emma-Lee Browne before relocating to Singapore.
He has made a smart start to his career and from five appearances has now won consecutive races, having broken his maiden a month ago.
