O’Reilly Bags Stakes Double
4 February 2013

O’Reilly continued on his stakes winning way this afternoon when the champion stallion delivered a double at Wingatui. His daughter Monachee was a commanding winner of the Listed Dunedin Gold Cup and then son Ric O’Shea stepped up to claim the Gr 3 White Robe Lodge Handicap.
A six and a-half length winner for John and Karen Parsons, Monachee is out of the Kinjite mare Kincia whose four foals to race have all won. They include Ciara (O’Reilly) who was also a dual Gr 2 placegetter in the Rich Hill Mile and the Gasmate Stakes, as well as the Gr 3 Eulogy Stakes.
The sparingly-raced Ric O’Shea has now won seven times from 16 starts for trainer Steven Prince. His dam is the Success Express mare Fellowship who also has a 100 percent record at stud from her five foals to race.
