O’Reilly completes remarkable season

O’Reilly has completed a stunning 2012-13 season with total domination in all three stallion divisions. The WS resident won the Grosvenor Award (champion New Zealand sire), the Dewar Award (champion New Zealand sire for Australasian earnings) and the Centaine Award (champion New Zealand sire for global earnings).
The sire of two Group One winners in the home-bred Sacred Falls (Doncaster Handicap, NZ 2000 Guineas) and Shamexpress (Newmarket Handicap), O’Reilly was the leading New Zealand sire by winners (154), wins, stakes winners (15) and earnings ($11,551,479 internationally).
To complete a remarkable season for O’Reilly, his son and former champion three-year-old Alamosa was crowned New Zealand’s champion first season sire.

WS-bred On The Lash scores at Sha Tin

Twenty-four hours following the final WS Cox Plate meeting run on the Moonee Valley track of old before it shuts for two years to make way for a new precinct, the race’s 2004 winner, Savabeel, continued his roll of runners, and this time it was via five-year-old On The Lash (ex Candelabra) at Sha Tin.
