Patience the key to success
3 April 2013
Patience is the key to getting the best out of Pussy O’Reilly, according to top jockey Mark Du Plessis.
He said the well-related O’Reilly mare was best when ridden quietly and those tactics were seen to winning effect at Ellerslie on Easter Monday. Du Plessis brought the four-year-old with the last run to claim the Trevor McKee Trophy for her fourth career victory.
Trained by Don Sellwood, Pussy O’Reilly is raced by Sir Patrick and Lady Justine Hogan with Peter Walker and is out of the former Group One performer Octapussy.
