Placement In Winners’ Circle Again
18 March 2012
Genuine mare Placement continued her outstanding run of form this preparation with a strong staying win at Moonee Valley Friday night.
Sold by WS for $A65,000 at the 2009 Sydney Easter Yearling Sale, she is prepared by Danny O’Brien and was ridden to a two and a-half length victory over 2040 metres by Kate Mallyon.
A daughter of Savabeel, she has now put together two wins and six placings from her last eight appearances. Add to that her effort for third in the Gr 1 VRC Oaks and the four-year-old, who is out of the O’Reilly mare Lucida, is a valuable broodmare porospect at the end of her racing career.
WS stallion Savabeel also made an impression in the feature event later that night when his son Sangster finished third in the Gr 1 Alister Clark Stakes.
