Potent pedigree to fore

Trainer John Bary believes the well-related Rosehip can progress to make her mark in good staying company. The WS-bred and sold daughter of Savabeel also has a pedigree to boost confidence and there will be a further exciting opportunity next year for buyers at Karaka to tap into the family.

The Matamata farm will offer a brother (Lot 190) to the Awapuni winner during the Premier session at the upcoming NZ Bloodstock National Yearling Sales. They are out of the Group performed Pins mare Prickle, who is a sister to the Listed Winter Cup winner Legsman (Pins).

Prickle is also the dam of the Gr.1 Queensland Derby winner Brambles (Savabeel) and the Listed Kalgoorlie Cup winner Lopov (Savabeel). The pedigree page features one of WS’s finest graduates, the multiple Group One winner Slight Chance.

A $7000 purchase for Hawke’s Bay identity John Frizzell, Rosehip has placed in five of her previous seven starts and was second-up today when successful over 1600 metres. Bary is confident she can quickly add to her winning record.
