Robbers Roost Banks The Cash
18 December 2011
Beautifully-related colt Robbers Roost was on the score sheet in Melbourne yesterday for leading trainer Danny O’Brien. The lightly-raced three-year-old had weighed in at all four of his previous appearances before his hollow victory over 1400 metres at Cranbourne yesterday.
The son of Pins is a half-brother to O’Reilly’s multiple Gr 1 winner Alamosa (Thorndon Mile, Toorak Handicap, Otaki-Maori WFA, Diamond Stakes) and No Excuse Needed’s Gr 3 performer Sacramento. They are out of the Centaine mare Lodore Mystic who is a sister to the Gr 2 City of Sails Trophy winner Perfect World.
Robbers Roost had finished third at Seymour and Kyneton in two runs back from a break before he opened his account yesterday. He was purchased out of WS’s 2010 Premier Sale draft to Karaka by O’Brien for $230,000.
