Royally bred Savabeel 4YO romps home

Well-credentialled mare Dream All Day (ex Posy) added to her value with a booming first-up victory at Ballarat this afternoon.

The daughter of Savabeel had been placed in all three of her previous runs for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr and was resuming over 1400 metres following a runner-up middle-distance finish at Flemington in June.

Dream All Day was slow to begin and settled a clear last before she improved wide near the turn and powered home to win untouched by three lengths in the hands of Damian Lane, who replaced an injured Thomas Stockdale.

“She’s a really nice horse and it was good to start the preparation with a win,” he said.

“She’ll be better over more ground, and I was very fortunate to get the call up to ride her.”

The four-year-old is raced by breeders Waikato Stud and is a sister to the multiple Group 1 winner Atishu and the G3 Cuddle Stakes winner Mazzolino.

Their dam is the No Excuse Needed mare Posy, who foaled a filly by Ardrossan.

She is a half-sister to the farm’s three-time elite-level winner Daffodil, with family members Orchestral, Savaglee and Aegon also successful at the highest level.
