Love Struck was settled in behind the leaders by Ryan Elliot before he angled her wide into the straight.
The two-year-old showed a smart turn of foot down the outside for an effortless victory over 800 metres.
Love Struck carries the colours of breeder Kevin Hickman and is the first foal of Twice Smitten.
She was a winner and is out of the Listed NZB Insurance Stakes winner Smitten Kitten.
It’s the family of the former champion juvenile Katana, dam of the North American Group Two winner Broken Sword.
I Don’t relishes better ground
Improved conditions at New Plymouth suited I Don’t perfectly as the Savabeel mare claimed her second career win for Waikato Stud and trainer Allan Sharrock. The daughter of G1 winner I Do showed her class, leading throughout under Lisa Allpress, and hails from a family rich in black-type performers.
