Savabeel’s Daughter Does It Again
30 December 2010
The best is still very much to come from the unbeaten filly Floria, according to her Ardmore trainer Stephen McKee. The daughter of Savabeel followed up her maiden success at Tauranga with another courageous performance at Paeroa to maintain her perfect record.
” She’s always showed plenty of ability but she’s quite a tall filly and she needs to strengthen some more yet,” McKee said. “She’ll be a really nice filly in the autumn.” Floria sat outside the leader at Paeroa and showed plenty of spirit when asked for a supreme effort by rider Danielle Johnson to down the older Rating 70 sprinters.
Bred and raced by Richard Moore, Floria boasts strong links to WS as she is out of the Centaine mare Aria, who won four races. “She was a really fast mare so we’ll see how far this one goes distance-wise as we take her through the grades,” McKee said.
