Seize the moment headed for the top
8 October 2015
Stephen Marsh is confident that Seize The Moment can make his mark at the top level. The Cambridge trainer produced the son of Pins for a second-up success at Hastings this afternoon and he’s convinced the best is yet to come.
“He can jump and put himself in the race,” Marsh said. “He’ll go through the grades. He’ll have a couple more runs and then we’ll put him aside for the autumn – there’s a very good race in him.”
The five-year-old showed gate speed from a wide barrier to race in third spot before unleashing in the straight to win comfortably. He was one of four winners on the closing day of the Hawke’s Bay carnival for rider Danielle Johnson. “It’s great to get on these good horse and they all delivered,” she said.
Seize The Moment is raced by Albert Bosma’s Go racing Ltd and he was a $50,000 Karaka purchase from WS’s 2012 Premier Sale draft. He is a half-brother to stablemate and Listed winner Savour The Moment (Savabeel) and the black type performer Striptease (Danasinga).
