Shillelagh steps up at Wanganui

Shillelagh provided her breeder-owners Christopher and Susanna Grace with a consolation prize at Wanganui.
The four-year-old retained her unbeaten record with victory against the lower grade sprinters to make up for the couple’s disappointment at Waikaha’s scratching from Saturday’s Listed Wanganui Cup.
She was to have been ridden by Dylan Mo, who was stood down after a fall and the lack of suitable replacement riders forced trainers David and Emma Haworth to withdraw the mare.
Shillelagh is prepared for the Graces by Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards with the latter saying black type was the obvious target for the sister to the Gr.2 Brisbane Cup winner and Gr.1 Caulfield Cup placegetter Tullamore.
