Sister Does Family Proud

WS will offer a brother to promising Savabeel filly Savannah Dancer who braved trying conditions at Ellerslie yesterday to open her winning account. The Tony Pike and Mark Donoghue-trained juvenile had finished fifth on debut and showed the benefit of that experience to dead-heat for first in the Countdown to Karaka Million.
Bred and sold by WS for $8000 as a weanling, Savannah Dancer is out of the Danasinga mare Scally Wag whose Savabeel colt will be offered by the Matamata farm during the Select Sale at Karaka next year. Their dam is a half-sister to the Chittick family’s Gr 1 Otaki-Maori WFA winner Critic.
The pedigree also features the Easter Handicap winner Prince Kaapstad and another current rising star in Single Currency. The four-year-old has won six of his 10 career starts for Cambridge trainer Chris Wood and looks destined for higher honours.
