Soriano stars at Te Teko
4 August 2015
A trial success has confirmed the dual Group One winner Soriano is on target to resume later this month.
The Savabeel mare won her 1200 metre heat at Te Teko on Tuesday ahead of a first-up tilt at the Gr.2 Lisa Chittick Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa on August 15. She will then head to Hastings for the Triple Crown series.
Soriano posted her maiden Group One win in the Zabeel Classic last Boxing Day and subsequently added the Herbie Dyke Stakes to her record.
Trainers Graeme and Debbie Rogerson also produced the smart filly Serena Miss to win a 1020m three-year-old trial at Te Teko. A strapping daughter of Iffraaj, she won two of her five starts last season, including the Gr.2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes.
