Super Seth 3YO strikes again in Hong Kong
Patch Of Cosmo (ex Thee) continues to successfully fly the Super Seth flag in Hong Kong.
The Waikato Stud-bred and sold three-year-old is the only representative of the Matamata farm’s stallion to have raced there and has now won three times.
His latest success for trainer Manfred Man was posted under jockey Matthew Chadwick over 1400 metres in Class 3 company at Sha Tin on Sunday’s Group 1 undercard.
Patch Of Cosmo was purchased by Richard Racing for $70,000 at the 2023 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale and then realised $230,000 when offered by Riversley Park at the Ready to Run Sale.
He is the first foal of the Savabeel mare Thee whose dam, the dual stakes winner Thy is a three-quarter sister to the two-time Group 1 winner The Jewel and a half-sister to the Gr.1 10,00 Guineas winner La Diosa.
John Foote secured Thee’s Super Seth colt sold for $170,000 at Karaka last year and the mare has an Ardrossan yearling colt.
Wee Nessy breaks her maiden in style
Savabeel’s three-year-old filly Wee Nessy impressed at Ellerslie, charging home to break her maiden in dominant fashion. The win marked Savabeel’s 1057th individual winner, with his progeny earnings surpassing $208 million as his legacy continues to grow.
