Top Family Serves Up Another Winner

A royal family that has served WS so well over the years took another winning trick at Awapuni today. The lightly-raced filly Lego boasts a Gr 1 pedigree and she showed a good degree of inherent ability with a dominant front-running display in the Chittick family colours.

By O’Reilly, she is the first foal of the farm’s dual Gr 1 winner Legs (New Zealand Oaks, Kelt Capital Stakes) who is by Pins out of River Century. Bred by Garry Chittick, she is a daughter of former champion stallion and decorated broodmare sire Centaine. River Century is also a sister to Arletty (Gr 2 Villiers Stakes, Gr 2 Queen of the Turf Stakes) and a three-quarter sister to Sixty Seconds (Gr 1 Arrowfield Stud Stakes).

WS will be offering a brother to Lego during the Premier session at next year’s National Yearling Sale. Legs has this season foaled a filly to O’Reilly and has been served by associate stallion and Gr 1 producer Savabeel.
