Update for Karaka-bound colt
17 January 2015
Genius drew further attention to her Karaka-bound brother when she furthered her record at Trentham this afternoon. The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained mare sat on the pace from a wide barrier and rallied strongly in the straight under Opie Bosson for the fourth victory of her 14-start career.
She has been in fine form this preparation with three wins from four appearances. “She cruised along outside the leader and she’s got a really good sprint,” Bosson said.
Bred and raced by Garry Chittick, Genius is a daughter of Savabeel and the O’Reilly mare I Que, who is a half-sister to the Listed NZ St Leger winner Ritzy Lady. WS will offer Genius’ brother (Lot 1024) during the Select Sale at Karaka later this month.
