20 January 2012
Mark down the Graeme and Debbie Rogerson-trained Toss Up as a promising staying filly to follow. The WS-bred and raced daughter of Zabeel showed her appreciation of the step up to a metric mile at Matamata today with a convincing victory.
The three-year-old, who had been a late-closing sixth on debut earlier this month, went to the line full of running to score by two and a-quarter lengths under Leith Innes. She is a half-sister to two winners, including the promising Danny O’Brien-trained Higuain (Pins).
They are out of the Tale of the Cat mare Heads Or Tales who is a half-sister to the Gr 1 Ellerslie Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Good Faith and to Spring. She is best known as the dam of the triple Gr 1 winner Daffodil (NZ 1000 Guineas, Australian Oaks, Challenge Stakes).
WS will be presenting an O’Reilly filly (Lot 233) out of Heads Or Tales during the Premier Sale at Karaka.
