Vogue Shows Her Style
20 February 2013
The cream rose to the top at Pukekohe this afternoon when the impeccably-bred Vogue stepped out for the first time. The filly boasting the impressive Group One pedigree carried the WS silks to victory at the first time of asking with the best certainly yet to come.
A homebred daughter of champion sire O’Reilly and the millionaire mare Glamous Puss, the winner of two top-flight Gr.1 events, had been a lead-up trial winner at Paeroa. “She went quite nicely and jumped out and got on the fence,” co-trainer Peter Williams said. “She’s a nice filly and will improve a lot – the more she does the better she’ll be.”
Bred and raced by Garry Chittick, Vogue is the third foal out of Glamour Puss and is a half-sister to the winners Heritage (Redoute’s Choice) and Hollywood (Pins). The latter’s younger brother Beckham is in the Matamata stable of Peter and Jacob McKay.
