WS on Show At Flemington

WS enjoyed a notable result at Flemington on Saturday when the Group One performer Placement downed fellow Matamata farm graduate Epingle. The former has been in a rich vein of form this preparation with three wins and seven placings from her last 10 appearances.

Third in last season’s VRC Oaks, the daughter of Savabeel is trained on the track by Danny O’Brien. Out of the O’Reilly mare Lucida, Placement was a $A65,000 buy from WS’s 2009 Sydney Easter Sale draft while Epingle was purchased for $A180,000 out of the same consignment.

Prepared at Cranbourne by Mick Kent, Epingleis a four-year-old daughter of Pins and has two wins and three placings from her eight starts. Epingle is out of the Zabeel mare Etoile du Nord, whose five wins featured the Listed Marton Cup.
