26 January 2012
WS stallion Pins was represented by a winning double at Hastings yesterday with Glad carrying the farm’s colours to victory and Sharp Decision collecting his maiden success. O’Reilly was also to the fore as well with a filly who started her career in fine style.
Trained at Matamata by Jason Bridgman, The well-related Glad had placed in two of her previous three appearances and was a dominant winner of the closing event. The three-year-old is out of the Rory’s Jester mare McHappy who is from the family of the sprinting superstar Black Caviar.
O’Reilly’s daughter Crosslands created a strong impression at the first time of asking when she won by widening four and a-half lengths. The filly is out o the Centaine mare Formosa Girl, who won seven races, and is from the family of the multiple Hong Kong Group winner Able Choice.
