153rd stakes winner for Sav with Rider’s Force
Rarely does a weekend go by that the NZ Hall of Fame stallion, Savabeel, doesn’t make an impact, be it through winners or stakes winners, and this weekend was no different as Force Of Nature powered through to win the Listed Legacy Lodge Sprint at Pukekohe on Saturday, 8 November.
Trained by Andrew Forsman, the five-year-old gelding was lining up for his 11th race start, looking to add a sixth win, and he did not disappoint. Ridden with precision by apprentice Triston Moodley, the pair jumped from barrier one in the 1200m affair, fighting right to the line in a photo finish.
Post-race, trainer Andrew Forsman said, “He’s a talented horse and hopefully he can come through this run and we can press on.”
Bred and raced by Tony Rider of Milan Park, Force Of Nature is the fourth foal of the O’Reilly mare Elusive Nature, who is expected to foal to Super Seth this season. He was offered at the 2022 NZB Ready to Run Sale and was passed in short of his $150,000 reserve, having breezed up in 10.56.
Now with 153 stakes winner,s Savabeel is closing in on his sire Zabeel’s 166 stakes winners’ tally.
