Savabeel leads the way again

A Savabeel colt produced a special moment for a Karaka stalwart when he realised $775,000 on day two of the Premier Sale. The good-looker was secured by Ultra Thoroughbreds’ Toby Koenig.
The youngster was presented by Little Avondale Stud, who were celebrating their 75th anniversary of selling at the National Yearling Sales, and is out of the Carnegie mare Generous Nature. His brother Savvy Nature has won four races, including Group Two and Three events in Australia.
“We have always been keen on the Savabeel’s, having bought a number of them through this sale,” Koenig said. “Their racetrack performance been outstanding and you can see the fierce competition every time a yearling by him steps into the ring. We’ve managed to secure a pair of superb colts and we’re very happy to be taking them home to Australia.”
WS’s Savabeel colt out of Miracle Miss was another centre of attention before she was signed for by Team Rogerson for $360,000.
They have already had success with the family, having won the Listed Wellesley Stakes with the half-sister Maritimo (Pins).
The dam is a sister to the dual Group Three winner Dating, whose own Savabeel colt went to Lincoln Farms for $180,000.
