Gr.1 Moir Stakes winner’s full sister booked to Return To Conquer
On Saturday, My Gladiola powered home to win the Gr.1 Moir Stakes, and in New Zealand her full sister, the Kia Ora-bred and -owned Wassa, is set to visit Return To Conquer this season.
Speaking to The Thoroughbred Report, Kia Ora Stud’s Shane Wright confirmed the booking, saying: “The whole team at Kia Ora believed in the mare, so not only do we have a share in My Gladiola, but we’ve got two sisters on the farm as well. Wassa is over in New Zealand getting covered by Return to Conquer this year. He’s a stallion we have in partnership with Waikato.”
Return To Conquer was unbeaten in four starts, all at stakes levels, which culminated in a Group 1. He was a A$1.3 million Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling. The son of Snitzel will stand his debut season at Waikato Stud for a fee of $15,000 plus GST.
