Pins Makes Presence Felt
Pins added to his black-type tally on Sydney’s main stage at the weekend when his brave daughter Lucha Libre landed the Listed South Pacific Classic at Randwick. The three-year-old is now unbeaten in two appearances from the stable of Anthony Cummings.
She had been successful on debut at Wyong and bridged the gap to stakes company on Saturday with a fighting display in trying conditions. Rider Craig Williams took her straight to the front and she dug deep in the run home to hold her male counterparts at bay in the closing stages.
A $45,000 Karaka buy for Cummings in 2009, Lucha Libre is a sister to the multiple Australian winner Pinsemtoit with their dam the Grosvenor mare Libre. She is an unraced sister to the Gr 1 Railway Handicap winner Ensign Ewart from the family of the Gr 1 Bayer Classic winner Prussian Blue.
