Jess Greenfield awarded 2026 Mary-Lynne Ryan Young Achiever Award
On Saturday night, Jess Greenfield was awarded the loveracing.nz Mary-Lynne Ryan Young Achiever Award at the Property Brokers National Breeding Awards at Karapiro attended by the Waikato Stud team including Garry and Mary Chittick, and Mike Rennie.
Jess joined Waikato Stud in 2018, just 17 years old, as part of the yearling preparation team and quickly progressed through all areas of the business to today being a part of the senior leadership team at Waikato Stud.
When asked by Steve Davis what the future looked like for Jess, Greenfield humbly replied: “Just keep working away at Waikato Stud and see where we end up.”

Another WS star was Ohope Wins (Ocean Park) who was awarded the NZB Filly of the Year for 2026, following winning two Group 1s within seven weeks in the 2025/26 season: Gr.1 WRC NZ Oaks and Gr.1 ATC Australian Oaks.
Ohope Wins is bred by Gartshore Bloodstock and was bought by Yulong after a quiet trial for spring on 20 July at Royal Randwick for Chris Waller.
Ocean Park stands the 2026 breeding season for $15,000 plust GST – incredible value coming off of the back of an incredible season with Group 1 winner Ohope Wins, Group 2-winning and twice Group 1-placed filly Autumn Glory – who Yulong purchased privately, too and making up Ocean Park’s five stakes winners for the seaon.
Pure Alpha delivers again as Ardrossan continues to rise
Ardrossan gelding Pure Alpha led throughout to win by 1.29 lengths at Eagle Farm for owner Ozzie Kheir, taking his earnings past $300,000. The result caps a stellar run for sire Ardrossan, whose yearlings fetched up to $450,000 this year on strong Hong Kong form.
