Fabulous Victory At Sha Tin

Waikato Stud graduate Fabulous November landed the most valuable event on last night’s Sha Tin card. It was mission accomplished for the promising three-year-old in the Griffin Trophy and he will now go for a deserved break.

The son of Pins had placed at his first two appearances before breaking through for his first victory last month. “He’s still a bit immature as you could see from his behaviour in the paddock before the race,” said winning jockey Tim Clark. “The side-winkers offered a great help even though he was still a bit keen early on.”

Races restricted to three-year-olds are very rare on the Hong Kong calendar, but they are usually pretty well furnished in terms of prize-money. This one carried the equivalent of NZ$300,000 reported NZTM.

Fabulous November was a $300,000 purchase by the Hong Kong Jockey Club out of WS’s 2011 Premier Sale draft and is trained by Richard Gibson. “This was our target for a long time and he will go for a nice break and he’s done his job winning his last two starts,” he said. “He’ll get over more ground in time.”

Fabulous November is out of the stakes winning O’Reilly mare Glitzy and is a brother to the multiple winner Huffer (Sequin) and a half to Group performer Glintz.

WS will offer a Pins filly out of Glitzy (Lot 161) during next year’s Premier session at Karaka.
