Happy days at Sha Tin
Well-related 4-year-old Happy Daily has taken another winning step in Hong Kong following further success at Sha Tin.
The Waikato Stud-bred and sold son of Pins has been racing particularly well this campaign and
posted three minor placings before a brace of victories, the latest in the hands of Karis Teetan over
1400 metres on Sunday night.
He settled the gelding behind the leading pack and they speared home along the fence to account
for their Class 4 opposition by 1.5l.
Happy Daily was purchased by Ho at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $260,000
and is a brother to multiple Hong Kong winner Breeze Of Spring and a half-brother to the Almanzor
juvenile Andalus.
A $420,000 Karaka graduate, he has made a bright start to his career with a debut third in the G2
Wakefield Challenge S.
They are out of the Savabeel mare Genius, who has a yearling filly by Ocean Park and returned to
him in 2021, and she is out of a half-sister to the stakes winner Ritzy Lady and the family of the South
African Group winners Hancock Park and Park Lane.
