Progressive mare strikes again

Ocean’s Jen looks like a mare to follow over the months ahead after she thumped her rivals at
Cranbourne on Friday night.

Aided by a perfect John Allen ride, the daughter of Ocean Park settled close to the pace before she
took over on straightening and coasted clear to score by 1.5l.

Ocean’s Jen is trained by Ciaron Maher and John Eustace and had finished fifth when resuming at
Sandown after a seven-month spell. The 4-year-old now has two wins and a placing from her six
appearances.

“She ran really well in a strong 64 and we were pleased how she came through it, hopefully she can
keep on going on with it,” stable representative Wayne Bolton said.

Bred by Waikato Stud, Ocean’s Jen was a $32,000 Karaka May Sale graduate and is sister to
stablemate Ocean’s Thirteen and a half-sister to the Group performer Florence Jean, whose sibling
Morse Code won nine races.

Their dam is the O’Reilly mare Really Reputable, who is a half-sister to the G3 Victoria H. winner
Stickpin.
