Genuine Tivaci filly opens winning account
Tivaci three-year-old Genuinely opened her second preparation in perfect fashion at Pakenham on Thursday evening with a first-up success over 1200 metres.
She was out of the picture in her September debut and then showed significant improvement later
that month at Ballarat for trainer John McArdle to finish third before a break.
“She has been heading in the right direction in her trackwork and trials and she is a filly that we
definitely think wants further ground so it was a nice result,” stable representative Danielle Smith.
Bred and raced by Waikato Stud, Genuinely settled back in the field before rider Jamie Mott angled
her wider at the top of the straight and she lengthened stride well in the run home for a narrow
victory.
“She is a nice filly with a promising future and she has come on really well. She relaxed and I was
happy throughout the run, she surprised me how quickly she sprinted,” Mott said.
Genuinely is a daughter of the unraced O’Reilly mare Heartfelt, a half-sister to the G3 South Island
Thoroughbred Breeders’ S. winner Residential.
Her dam Metropolitan won the Listed Canterbury Belle S. and is from the family of multiple stakes
winner Coup Liner.
