Ocean Park mare strikes again

Ocean’s Thirteen continues to build a tidy record and she claimed her sixth victory in fine style on Thursday evening at Pakenham.

The 5-year-old daughter of Ocean Park settled back in the field last night and apprentice rider Sheridan Clarke stayed closest to the fence when the field fanned out into the straight.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Ocean’s Thirteen lengthened stride impressively to power clear and score by 1.75l.

“We copped a bump from the horse on our inside at the start, but she settled well and kicked up nicely. She’s a classy little horse,” Clarke said.

Bred by Waikato Stud and sold at Karaka for $75,000, Ocean’s Thirteen is out of the O’Reilly mare Really Reputable, a half-sister to the G3 Victoria H. winner Stickpin and the Listed Flying H. winner The Bandito.

Five of her six foals to race have been successful and includes the recent Listed Otago Breeders’ S. winner Reputabelle and the Group performer Florence Jean.
