Belle rings again for Pins filly

Reputabelle (Race Images South)

Reputabelle continued her outstanding run of form when she claimed another black type scalp on Saturday afternoon in the Listed NZB Insurance S. at Riccarton to set up a possible Australian venture.

The Pins filly has now won four on the bounce, including success in the Listed NZB Airfreight S. at her previous appearance for trainers Michael and Matthew Pitman.

Reputabelle was wide early before settling in third sport for rider Tina Comignaghi and she was more than willing in the straight to keep her winning run intact.

“Some really nice horses have won this race, including Atishu who went over to Sydney and impressed over there so the thought of taking this filly to Queensland later on does hold some appeal,” Matthew Pitman said.

“We like to target these nice days on our back door-step and it is good to get the result that we did today.

“Reputabelle is just going from strength to strength and Tina said she did a very professional job, which was a lot easier than it looked.”

Bred by Waikato Stud, the filly was a $14,000 Gavelhouse June Online Auction purchase for part-owner Jim Bruford, and is a daughter of the unraced O’Reilly mare Really Reputable.

A half-sister to stakes-winning siblings Stickpin and The Bandito, Really Reputable has done a fine job as a broodmare and has left five winners, including the black type performer Florence Jean.
