Fresh is best for Tivaci filly

Tivaci

Trainer Steven Woodsford has hit on a winning formula with his smart Tivaci three-year-old Tadita.

Since the experienced horseman adopted a month between runs policy with the filly, she has responded with three victories with the latest a gallant front-running effort over 1400 metres at Oamaru on Thursday afternoon.

Tadita showed sharp gate speed to make the running under rider Lisa Allpress and stayed on strongly under pressure to post her first success beyond 1200 metres.

The Waikato Stud graduate is a daughter of the O’Reilly mare Corsicana, who is a sister to the dual Group 2 winner Hera and the family of elite level winners Ballroom Babe, Dandy Andy and Polanski.

A bargain $1800 Gavelhouse purchase, Tadita’s Oamaru victory elevated exciting young stallion Tivaci into second spot on the New Zealand second season sires’ table with progeny earnings in excess of $500,000.
