Improved track conditions ideal

Savabeel

A Good 4 track at Trentham on Sunday afternoon provided Lavita Vishvi with the ideal surface to showcase her staying ability.

The Savabeel mare had posted two runner-up finishes on heavy ground from her previous four outings, but she is much more adept on firmer going and took full advantage over 2100 metres for her second career victory.

It was her first from John Bary’s Hastings stable, having relocated south when former trainer Nigel Tiley downsized his operation.

Lavita Vishvi settled three back on the rail and, when a gap opened in the straight, she was a willing partner for rider Lisa Allpress and rounded off strongly.

The mare was a $340,000 buy for the Balia Family Trust from Waikato Stud’s 2019 Karaka draft and is out of the Pins mare Daisy Chain, a daughter of three-time Group 1 winner Daffodil.

Daisy Chain has an unraced two-year-old colt by Savabeel and unfortunately missed to Tivaci the following year. She is due to foal this season to Super Seth.
